Stone Chariot of Bishnupur is a miniature mandir dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It looks a chariot or ‘Rath’.
The Stone Chariot was built some time in the 17th Century. This small double storied structure stands on low laterite plinth, originally with three wheels on each side. The lower story resembles the arched pavilion of rasmancha, whereas the upper story with shikara resembles typical ekaratna temples of Bishnupur.
This stone chariot is unique in representing typical Bishnupur temple style in miniature form with all the finer details.
