The recent activities of the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh have created controversy. Common Hindus in Bangladesh have complained that only Hindus are not being given visas to India for various childish reasons. The common Hindus of Bangladesh complained that the Hindus who are getting Indian visas are being given visas after suffering. On the other hand, even though there are many errors in the documents, the people of the Muslim community of Bangladesh are being given visas easily.
Recently, Bangladeshi Hindu activist Nihar Halder and famous professor of Chittagong University Sri. Kushal Baran Chakraborty highlighted this endless suffering of Bangladeshi Hindus in the Indian High Commission through a video message. In the video message, Hindu activist Nihar Halder shared his story of harassment at the Indian High Commission.
Hindu activist Nihar Halder said at the time, “I was not being granted a visa by showing various pretenses at the Indian High Commission. After a long time of visiting the embassy and various offices, I was finally approved for only three months visa. Inside the Indian High Commission located in Bangladesh, there are various dishonest circles of Bangladesh who are connected with them. They are only Harassing people of the Hindu community in issuing Indian visas. My humble request to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs of India, take immediate action against this irregularity and connivance of dishonest circles in the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh.”
Prominent Professor of Chittagong University Mr. Kushal Baran Chakraborty agreed with Nihar Halder and said, “I know of numerous incidents against the Hindu community in the Indian High Commission. There are some dishonest people inside the system who are deliberately targeting the Hindu community and harassing them. If the Ministry of Home Affairs of India and the Ministry of External Affairs make a little inquiry, they will be able to know about this situation very easily, we don’t have to tell you separately. It is our humble request to the Government of India to look into this matter seriously. Even though we are Hindus, we are not able to get Indian visas. As people of the Hindu community, this matter has given us a lot of pain.”
This is not the first time. There have been allegations of the involvement of various dishonest groups in the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh at various times before. Under the influence of this unscrupulous cycle, India’s visa issuance process is targeting people from the Hindu community for unknown reasons. On the other hand, the people of the Muslim community of Bangladesh are getting Indian visas very easily. In this situation, the question of the Hindu community in Bangladesh is, “Is being a Hindu our biggest crime?” If action is not taken soon in this matter, India’s image will naturally be questioned, say netizens.
