The temple of Jai Mangala (Nabadurga) at Golahat village of Kandhi, Karnasubarna is believed to have been built by the legendary Chand Saudagar(alt.Chand Sadagar) mentioned in the Mangala Kavyas and other ancient Bengali and Assamese literature. Behula Vasan’s story features Chand Saudagar, who is the father in-law of Behula and father to Lakhindar.
