Like the previous several years, Hindu persecution in Bangladesh continued in 2022 also. Murder, attacks on temples, land grabbing, forcible conversion, allegations of blasphemy were common against the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
The characteristic feature of the Hindu persecution in 2022 was the sharp increase in incidents related to alleged blasphemy. News of alleged incidents of blasphemy in India or alleged persecutions of minorities in India were weaponized by the Islamists to justify their persecution of Hindus.
