Like the previous several years, Hindu persecution in Bangladesh continues in 2023 also. The level of inhuman atrocities has crossed all the limits of tolerance of the Hindu community. Murder, attacks on Hindu religious institutions, land grabbing, forcefully conversion had became a general incident against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. The persecution against the Hindu community continues there resulting a sharp decrease of Hindu population.
In May 2023, hate speeches, Hinduphobic statements and anti-Hindu slurs in public as well as digital media dominated the headlines. The attacks on Hindu temples and shrines, desecration and destruction of murtis of Hindu deities continued alongside the persecution of Hindus by the state for alleged blasphemy of the state religion. In addition to this, there were multiple cases of attacks on Hindu women.
