On June 2, 2017 bengali muslim settlers with the help from BD army personnel launched a massive arson attack on the Chakmas of Langadu, Rangamati of Chittagong Hill tracts.
Thousands of Chakma people fled to the Jungle. Many villages were burnt to ashes by the army backed muslim settlers. An elderly woman named Guna Mala Chakma(75) was murdered. Many were injured.
Many Chakma students were forced to skip schools as the schools are in Bengali Muslim dominated areas.
