Terracota Design Depicting Ramayana War at Jayadev Kenduli

Terracota design depicting the Ramayana War at Jaydev Kenduli, a village and gram panchayat in Ilambazar community development block in Bolpur subdivision of Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is believed by many to be the birthplace of Jayadeva, (born c. 1170 CE, also known as Jaidev,) a Sanskrit poet during the 12th century, most reknowned for his epic poem Gita Govinda which concentrates on Krishna’s love with the gopi, Radha in a rite of spring. This poem is considered an important text in the Bhakti movement of Hinduism.
