Up till 1971, Saidpur had a sizeable Hindu Marwari community. In 1971, Hindus quickly realized that they’ve become special targets of Pakistan army. Leaving home was the only option. Pakistan was offering both Marwari & Bengali Hindus safe passage to India if they surrendered.
