Kunjaghata Rajbari, Murshidabad

The Kunjaghata Palace of Saidabad was built by Jagat Chand, the son in-law of Maharaja Nanda Kumar. The king is said to have moved in here with his family in 1755 CE.

The palace is currently a museum where all of the royal family’s personal belongings, including the king’s letters, shawl and sword are on display. A lot documents pertaining to his rule has been preserved here.

Nanda Kumar originally resided at  Bhadrapur in Birbhum, WB. The Kunjaghata Palace was probably an occasional resident of Nanda Kumar.

The Palace had a Durga Dalan, which is currently in a ruined state.

The rajbari also has vigrahas of Lord Shiva, GoddessLakshmi, Narayan and Krishna in its multiple built-in temples.
